Wont Get a Peck!

So as you might know, or might not know, I am a big fan of spicy peppers. I love serranos, anaheims, jalapenos, etc. I have even grown scotch bonnet habaneros before.

Today I picked the first pepper of the year! A nice-sized Garden Salsa pepper, which I believe is a hybrid of Anaheim and Jalapeno peppers. They are not too spicy, but still spicy enough.

My peppers get used. I don’t let them go to waste! I have made salsas, jellies, chutneys, etc. This year I will not doing much unless I purchase peppers. I had purchased my jalapeno pepper plants from Mill’s Fleet Farm in Waite Park, Minnesota this year. After a while I noticed that they were not jalapenos, but rather bell peppers. So, I will not be able to do much.

It might not be Mill’s fault, it could also be the suppliers fault… Dan and Jerry’s Nursery of Monticello, Minnesota is the supplier to Mill’s and it is hard to determine fault when they said nobody else had called to complain. I did have all the tags that showed that I had purchased jalapeno peppers and I think that I will be finding a farmers market in the cities to see about purchasing some.

UPDATE: Mill’s Fleet Farm is sending me a $20 gift card to make up for the mistake.
