The Wadena War Zone!

The War Zone

War is never fun, but I have seen the war zone in the State of Minnesota. Disasters are never fun, but as people know I am there when I get the call / page / email / etc. As some might know, a tornado ripped threw the city of Wadena (about two hours north of Saint Cloud, Minnesota) destroying the town. Getting the request over radio to appear, I was there a few hours later with VERY little sleep. I had done everything up there and I feel that I have learned a lot from Mike, the Todd County Emergency Management Director.

I figured that I would take some pictures so that everyone can see what happened. I was there for the week, doing a variety of different things. I would like to give a shout out to the White Earth Police Department for their response, Walmart for their volunteerism and donations, the Salvation Army for their willingness to help where needed, Sprint of Wadena for their donation of an aircard for the day so we could have last minute internet in the Todd County EOC, and the Great Minnesota Air Show for their donation of food.

I would like to do a BIG SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE THAT I WORKED WITH! WE ROCKED! Also, thanks to everyone for their support whether they volunteered, put up with my crankiness (if I was cranky), voiced support, or anything else! It was ALL greatly appreciated!
